With more than 100 exhibitors showcasing the latest test and next-generation enabling technologies specifically developed for AVs, Autonomous Vehicle Technology Expo in Novi, Michigan (as well as at the adjacent Automotive Testing Expo) is a must-attend event for anyone working on the path toward driverless vehicles.

Opening next week (October 22-24), the show is completely free to attend. Visitors are set to enjoy live demonstrations and exciting new launches from a range of technology leaders, including AB Dynamics, Aimotive, Aimsun, American Center for Mobility, Ann Arbor SPARK,  Anyverse, AVL, b-plus, C-MORE Automotive, dSPACE, Foretellix, Keysight Technologies, MSC Software, NIRA Dynamics, Siemens and VBOX Racelogic – to name just a few!

Exhibitors plan to make a number of announcements: Aimsun will showcase its Aimsun Auto platform, for the design and validation of path planning algorithms for self-driving vehicles. Lidar developer Xenomatix will be presenting a compact new lidar unit, the Intercity, while Foretellix will be promoting its newly released M-SDL Measurable Scenario Description Language. Two highly focused conferences

There are also two dedicated pay-to-attend conferences: the Autonomous Vehicle Test & Development Symposium, and the ADAS & AV Legal Issues & Liabilities World Congress. The Symposium will bring together the world’s leading engineers in the field of autonomous vehicle research, testing, validation and development. Meanwhile, the World Congress will help to clarify the legal status and risks of an entirely new kind of vehicle. Speakers will discuss areas such as product liability and the state of legislation, as well as privacy and cybersecurity.

More than 80 experts across both conferences will share exclusive insights from their latest research and programs, with speakers from organizations such as VW, Intel, Siemens, Uber and General Motors. Highlights include TomTom’s Praveen Chandrasekar, who will explain at the Autonomous Vehicle Test & Development Symposium how HD maps create an essential fallback for the vehicle’s sensors; and professor Nicholas Wittner, who will explain the fundamentals of product liability law in the context of ADAS and AV.
