Featuring open-air facilities and 5G live data streaming, Autonomous Vehicle Technology Expo 2021 will take place in Hannover, Germany, July 7 and 8, in response to calls from the autonomous vehicle test and development community in Germany to ‘get the show back on the road’. The event, which is organized by UKi Media & Events, the publisher of Autonomous Vehicle International, will be co-located with Automotive Testing Expo, ensuring visitors benefit from a diverse range of complementary technologies.
ADAS and AV testing teams and technology suppliers will be able to see the latest simulation tools and testing systems for AV development, as well as software and hardware solutions for autonomous applications, including the latest sensors, AI and sensor fusion innovations, software stack developments, dataloggers and much more.
The switch to Hannover is designed to reassure visitors who have concerns regarding Covid-19. The Messe’s unique EXPO-Dach timber canopy provides 16,000m2 of open-air meeting space under the world’s largest freestanding wooden roof. This will be supplemented by conventional exhibition space spread generously across four halls with very low-density exhibition booths and lots of free-flowing fresh air – with freight doors and entrance and exit doors fully open throughout the event. Meeting spaces will comply with social distancing guidelines, with all seating spaced at least 1.5m apart plus the use of 7m-wide aisles.
Although not conducive to maximum utilization of space, this more generous configuration will ensure the event follows the latest health and safety advice. Special features will include 5G with live data streaming of test vehicles on the public highways around Hannover (as part of the Test Bed Lower Saxony for automated and connected mobility) direct to exhibitors’ meeting zones and booths, as well as some live demos going on at the Messe during the show, also utilizing 5G.
