A free-to-attend, exclusive mini-conference on the publicly funded Gaia-X 4 Product Life Cycle – Across Automated Driving (PLC-AAD) project, which is developing an open and distributed data ecosystem to support the product lifecycle of automated driving functions according to Gaia-X standards, will take place on the second day (21 May) of this year’s ADAS & Autonomous Vehicle Technology Expo in Stuttgart, Germany. Alexander F Walser, managing director, Automotive Solution Center for Simulation, who will chair the mini-conference, explains more, below.
What will delegates learn during the project update mini-conference?
What format will it take – will there more than one speaker, how will it be structured?
There will be 10 speakers and the project update mini-conference will be split into eight parts, running for an approximate three hours, on a stage on the exhibition show floor (free to attend). The introduction will be followed by eight modules: Simulation-based V&V of Driving Functions in the GAIA-X Data Ecosystem; Open Source Co-Simulation with OSTAR; Automated Testing and Validation of Perception Sensor Models; Toward Certification of Simulation Models: Collaborative Validation in the OVAL Ecosystem; Asset Provision Workflow for Automotive Use Cases; Test Automation for Automated Driving Functions – Use Cases and Benefits of the Gaia-X Ecosystem; and Holistic Safety Approach and Reliability Simulation for ADAS/AD-Systems.
Beyond the free-to-attend project update mini-conference taking place on the show floor, the main conference (rates apply, see full program), will also include a presentation titled ‘ENVITED-X Data Space – securing simulation data quality for virtual product validation’, as part of the ‘Safety innovations and best practices for their development and deployment’ conference track, on the same day (May 21, 2025), from Carlo van Driesten, systems architect for virtual test and validation, BMW Group, and myself (Alexander F Walser, managing director, Automotive Solution Center for Simulation).
Delegates will discover how the ENVITED-X Data Space provides a trusted framework to ensure data integrity, consistency and accessibility for virtual product validation. The presentation will cover key aspects such as digital identities for secure collaboration, domain-specific metadata and ontologies to standardize simulation data and quality checks and labels to ensure reliability. It will also explore traceability and access control mechanisms to safeguard data integrity, along with governance frameworks that enable trusted data exchange for ADAS and AD development.
