VinFast is expanding its technology capabilities across driver-assistance systems, connected vehicle technologies and manufacturing. The company is also developing its global operations to support vehicle intelligence and market expansion.
Anne Pham, Vingroup’s head of international capital development, said that VinFast is building its driver-assistance technology, supply chain and global growth strategy step by step, favoring measurable progress over headline claims.
VinFast’s current vehicle line-up offers Level 2 ADAS functions such as adaptive cruise control and lane centering, which assist drivers while requiring them to remain in control. The distinction between driver assistance and autonomous driving is increasingly important for safety and regulatory communication.
For its next generation of models, VinFast is planning a move toward L2+/L2++ capability – an incremental step that would extend the range of conditions under which the car can assist the driver, without claiming hands-off, eyes-off autonomy.
The rollout is intended to be guided by measurable safety validation rather than a fixed launch date. VinFast says each capability will be assessed against real-world driving data before wider deployment, reflecting the growing emphasis on validation as ADAS and autonomous driving technologies develop.
VinFast says its roadmap is focused on gradually scaling ADAS capabilities, using real-world driving data to support the development of L2+/L2++ systems. Planned improvements include more consistent lane keeping, adaptive cruise control and expanded highway assistance. Full autonomy remains a longer-term goal.
