Harman has unveiled Ready Ride, an end-to-end connectivity platform designed specifically for motorcycles and scooters. The platform combines a scalable telematics control unit (TCU), software stack, cellular connectivity and an OEM backend, enabling over-the-air updates and premium connected features for riders.

Ready Ride is built to meet the rugged demands of the two-wheeler market, with IP69-certified sealing, shock- and vibration-tested components and mounting options optimized for tight vehicle envelopes. The platform supports Advanced Ride Assistance Systems, includes crash and tip-over detection and is eCall ready, and remote vehicle security capabilities such as theft alerts and immobilization.

Less than 5% of motorcycles globally currently feature telematics, despite increasing demand for navigation, safety and connectivity services. Ready Ride addresses this gap by providing a motorcycle-grade alternative to ad-hoc smartphone mounting, ensuring reliable operation under vibration, weather exposure and rapid changes in speed.

The platform leverages Qualcomm Technologies’ Snapdragon Digital Chassis SoC for two-wheelers, enabling latency- and bandwidth-sensitive applications over cellular networks. OTA updates enable OEMs to enhance software, deploy new features and provide remote diagnostics, helping maintain performance and reduce service complexity.

Dual Bluetooth connectivity and compatibility with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto provide riders with a familiar interface for navigation, media and communication, while minimizing setup friction and supporting safer, hands-free interaction.

“Ready Ride brings our leading connectivity expertise to two‑wheelers, reducing complexity with a standardized TCU foundation that helps OEMs launch faster, lower program cost and scale confidently across regions and generations,” said Shahriar Ravari, director, Ready Ride business lead at Harman. “With hardware packaged in a ruggedized small form factor, the end-to-end Ready Ride platform ensures riders, from busy city streets to remote mountain passes, will get robust, safe and connected experiences, while OEMs gain a dependable, low-friction pathway from first prototype to global rollout.”

“We’re proud to support Harman Ready Ride with our purpose-built Snapdragon Digital Chassis SoCs for the two‑wheeler industry,” said Jeff Arnold, VP and GM, auto telematics and consumer/connectivity, IE-IOT, Qualcomm Technologies. “Together we’re accelerating the future of two-wheeled mobility, delivering scalable, reliable and always‑on connectivity that empowers OEMs to confidently bring next-generation rider experiences to life.”
