A newly formed partnership between the BMW Group and AirConsole will see casual gaming technology brought into the cabin of the OEM’s 2023 vehicles.

The AirConsole gaming platform will be integrated into the BMW Curved Display and features a large collection of single and multiplayer games to ensure occupants stay entertained on long journeys or during stops when charging electric vehicles.

Games can be played using a smartphone as a controller which connects to the BMW Curved Display after scanning a QR code inside the vehicle. Furthermore, additional games can be delivered over-the-air by using the AirConsole technology.

“With AirConsole we will leverage innovative technologies combined with a broad variety of fun and multiplayer games,” said Stephan Durach, senior vice president, BMW Group Connected Company Development. “This will make every waiting situation inside the vehicle, such as charging, an enjoyable moment.”

“We are extremely proud to spearhead gaming inside vehicles with BMW and are excited to create new games for in-car entertainment,” added Anthony Cliquot, CEO of N-Dream, the company behind the AirConsole brand. “Our ingenious architecture coupled with the ease of access of our platform will change the way people get entertained in their vehicles.”

BMW chose AirConsole as a partner through the BMW Startup Garage program.
