Following a £14.1m (US$19m) fundraising to support global expansion, Aurrigo International has opened a new UK hub, marking a key step in its growth and manufacturing capability. Production of the company’s autonomous vehicles will begin shortly at a facility in Power Park, Coventry.

The new site measures over 12,000m2, more than three times the size of the firm’s current facility, and will serve as its UK hub for advanced engineering, autonomous vehicle development, high-volume manufacturing and ongoing automotive activities.

This expansion supports Aurrigo’s recently launched international hub and licensing program, which aims to accelerate the company’s global commercialization strategy by seeking local relationships, funding and manufacturing support in Europe, the Middle East, Southeast Asia and the US.

The latest investment will also support the delivery of the £6.28m (US$8.48m) contract with Ultra Global for 25 autonomous guided vehicles, demonstrating the importance of scaling manufacturing to meet increasing commercial demand.

Once the facility is operating at full capacity, Aurrigo believes it will be capable of manufacturing over 500 autonomous vehicles every year, subject to customer demand.

Prof. David Keene MBE, chief executive officer of Aurrigo International, commented, “This new Advanced Manufacturing and Engineering Centre marks an important milestone for our business and our unwavering commitment to the UK, delivering investment in autonomous technology.

“It significantly enhances our manufacturing and engineering capability, provides the capacity to scale in line with demand, and underpins our ambition to build a sustainable, capital-efficient platform for long-term growth.”

The premises has been secured with turnkey infrastructure already in place, including IT systems, fully fitted offices, EV charging infrastructure and manufacturing facilities, enabling rapid operational ramp-up. It also gives Aurrigo space for an on-site autonomous vehicle test track, supporting in-house validation, customer demonstrations and accelerated development cycles.

Andrew Cornish, chairman of the board at Aurrigo, added, “This facility represents a significant step forward for Aurrigo as it continues to deliver on its stated growth strategy. It reflects disciplined investment following the recent fundraise and provides the operational headroom needed to scale efficiently, support existing programs and pursue further opportunities as the business develops.”

“As part of this next phase, we are actively seeking strategic partners to support our continued international growth, accelerate production scale-up, and help bring our world-class manufacturing facility to full operational capacity,” said Keene. The Advanced Engineering and Manufacturing Centre will serve as the core of the company’s international hub strategy, providing intellectual property, technical expertise and operational know-how, while partners contribute working capital and market access to support regional product deployment.

Keene concluded, “We are really pleased to have secured a new home in Coventry, just a few miles from our existing site and, importantly, a place where we can create jobs for highly skilled people and the next generation of engineers and software specialists.”

Aurrigo has been nominated in this year’s ADAS & Autonomous Vehicle International Awards, which recognize groundbreaking achievements that are driving safer, smarter and more sustainable mobility solutions.
