The world’s first AI-defined vehicle, the P7+, has been unveiled by Xpeng at the Paris Motor Show. The car uses artificial intelligence and advanced mobility solutions and has “a sense of time and space” gained through camera-based driving technology, the auto maker says.

The P7+ comes with features such as the ability to learn from individual users’ behaviors and preferences. This technology makes driving easier and enhances the smart driving experience, ensuring the car understands each user’s needs for a personalized journey.

Xpeng has integrated advanced AI technology across the chassis, powertrain, driving system and smart cockpit, along with the AI Hawkeye Visual Solution. The P7+ features ADAS as standard on all trims, which will be updated through OTA updates.

The car also comes with standard 800V high-voltage SiC platform from the Xpeng G9 and G6. This enables ultra-fast charging but also achieves an impressive energy consumption – 11.6kWh/100 km, which exceeds other vehicles in its segment.

For the AI Hawkeye Visual Solution, the P7+ is equipped with two 8MP cameras (front and rear), millimeter-wave radars and ultrasonic radars to deliver smart driving performance comparable to solutions that rely on costly lidar systems and HD map coverage.

This configuration provides clearer, more accurate and longer-range vision and perception, enabling the in-car computer to function effectively even in low-light, backlit and high-contrast lighting conditions. Furthermore, this system also has a sense of time and space and recognizes various road signs and traffic signal systems across different cities, ensuring functionality in diverse urban environments.

The car also features a full-scenario XNGP ADAS, ensuring seamless autonomous driving capabilities wherever navigation is possible. The system is currently available for Chinese customers. However, Xpeng aims to introduce it in Europe and has successfully tested its Highway NGP in Germany, with the global development of XNGP functions set to follow in 2025.

Xpeng is expanding its global presence, with vehicles available in 30 countries. Since entering the European market in Norway in 2021, Xpeng has introduced advanced technologies and solutions that are now operating in Norway, Denmark, Sweden, the Netherlands, Belgium, Luxembourg, Germany, France, Iceland, Spain and Portugal, and has plans for further expansion.
