Toyota has selected Hesai Technology’s long-range automotive lidar ATX for its upcoming Chinese energy model, scheduled to enter mass production in 2026.
The joint venture is focused on promoting electrification and intelligent mobility. Its new-energy model is expected to support growth, while advanced driver-assistance systems (ADAS) contribute to setting a new standard. Backed by a strong local R&D ecosystem, the venture integrates global engineering practices with Chinese innovation.
Hesai’s ATX is the company’s most advanced technology platform, featuring upgrades to the optical-mechanical design and laser transceiver modules, combining a compact form with high performance.
