Inceptio Technology, a developer of autonomous driving technologies for heavy-duty trucks, has announced that trucks equipped with the Inceptio Autonomous Driving System, featuring Truck Navigate-on-Autopilot (T-NOA) capabilities, have collectively traveled more 100,000,000km in safe commercial operations.

The successful deployment of L3 and L2+ autonomous heavy-duty trucks across various sectors, including express delivery, less-than-truckload (LTL) transportation and contract logistics, demonstrates the value proposition of autonomous trucks for logistics operators.

Inceptio-powered trucks have been utilized by top logistics companies in China and established a presence in diverse segments such as cold chain, automotive, beverages and fast-moving consumer goods.

Having surpassed 50,000,000km of safe commercial operations in August 2023, Inceptio has collaborated with leading Chinese truck manufacturers to integrate its Autonomous Driving System into mass-produced trucks, expanding its reach within the line-haul logistics sector. Partnerships with manufacturers such as Dongfeng, Sinotruk, Foton and Liuqi have resulted in the availability of Inceptio-powered trucks in various configurations to meet the industry’s needs.

Autonomous driving technology has improved operational efficiency and cost savings for logistics companies. Express delivery companies have experienced reduced labor costs by deploying autonomous trucks on routes exceeding 500km, with some routes seeing a 40% to 50% decrease in labor costs. Contract logistics companies have also benefited from reduced driver-to-truck ratios and fuel savings, resulting in lower total cost of ownership per kilometer.

Individual operators have reported increased monthly kilometers per truck and net income due to the enhanced safety and driving comfort offered by autonomous trucks.

Julian Ma, founder and CEO of Inceptio Technology, said, “Inceptio’s autonomous driving technology and its T-NOA capabilities are making significant progress in their commercialization, allowing us to rapidly surpass the 100,000,000km milestone after hitting 50,000,000 only eight months ago.

“This user-driven approach is pushing the boundaries of how these autonomous trucks are used, opening up new ways to deploy our technology. The more data we gather, the faster we will be able to enhance our algorithms and improve our full-stack solution. We will continue working closely with our truck OEM partners to offer even greater safety, efficiency and profitability to logistics customers.”

AAVI recently spoke to Inceptio about how it continues to help Deppon Express improve efficiency on its regular Shanghai-Jinan operational route. Click here to read more.
