To meet the ever-increasing requirements of autonomous vehicles and overcome the associated challenges of their perception systems, Hesai has designed the FT120 fully solid-state lidar to enable near-range blind-spot coverage. The FT120 benefits from a 100° x 75° ultra-wide field-of-view (FOV) and a maximum detection range of 100m. Furthermore, the new solution has a data rate of 192,000 points per second (in single return mode) and an overall resolution of 160 (H) x 120 (V).

The blind-spot detection sensor for ADAS helps vehicles accurately identify smaller objects during everyday driving scenarios such as turning, parking or passing objects or other vehicles.

During 2022, Hesai achieved a record milestone of 100,000 lifetime lidar units delivered in December, in addition to expanding its partner ecosystem to multiple well-known companies in the USA, including Nvidia, Zoox and Nuro.

“We have received pre-orders of FT120 with 1,000,000 units from top automotive OEMs and will begin deliveries in the second half of 2023,” commented Bob in den Bosch, senior vice president of global sales at Hesai. “Lidar can not only empower self-driving cars but also enable a wider range of industrial applications.”
