California-based global EAI ecosystem company Faraday Future Intelligent Electric (FFAI) has announced two strategic business updates and restructuring initiatives.
The first is for the company to become a physical AI investment, incubation and holding company and bring its robotics business into AIxC, which is expected to be renamed FFR.
The second focuses on upgrading the company’s automotive strategy across three areas: entering the robotaxi market, including potential connectivity with the Cybercab network; extending Faraday Future’s EAI cabin technology to other intelligent vehicles; and enabling Faraday Future vehicles to connect with robotaxi networks.
Autonomous vehicles
The automotive industry is undergoing significant changes driven by autonomous driving, shared autonomous mobility and mobility services.
As vehicle use becomes more shared and vehicle ownership becomes increasingly fragmented, Faraday Future plans to explore a lighter-asset business model. The company aims to apply this approach to its Four Future Trends strategy and develop its automotive business around EAI cabins and shared robotaxi operations.
Following the strategic upgrade, FFAI will work with RoboShare to expand its robotaxi and autonomous shared-mobility business. This will include connecting to the Cybercab network, exploring the deployment of FF’s 3rd aiSpace EAI cabin technology in other intelligent vehicles, and connecting FF vehicles to robotaxi networks.
Through RoboShare’s sharing platform and operational capabilities, FFAI also plans to explore opportunities in vehicle-asset onboarding, operations and user services.
“Through this strategic upgrade, FF has the opportunity to once again become a driving force in the transformation of the automotive industry,” said YT Jia, founder and global CEO of Faraday Future. “FFAI plans to combine its robotics business with AIxC to create an independently listed robotics company. FFAI will also unlock value through a more open and resilient approach. This marks a new beginning for both companies and an important step for EAI and physical AI as they move from exploration to building an industry together and toward a major leap forward.”
