Oxa, which provides autonomous vehicle software, and Bradshaw EV, a manufacturer and supplier of specialist industrial electric vehicles, have begun working together to deliver scalable autonomous vehicle solutions for a range of applications.
The collaboration will see Oxa’s self-driving software, Oxa Driver, integrated with vehicles supplied by Bradshaw EV. Enabled by Oxa’s Reference Autonomy Designs (RADs), each vehicle platform is configured with autonomy hardware and Oxa’s software, and is ready to deploy at scale. Oxa’s self-driving technology will initially be integrated into two key platforms offered by Bradshaw EV: the robust T800 eight-metric-ton tow tractor and the versatile Club Car Carryall 500 utility vehicle.
The Bradshaw T800, driven by Oxa, is suitable for off-highway light logistics applications, providing autonomous towing capabilities for moving goods and components efficiently around airports, large manufacturing sites, distribution centers, campuses and a wide range of other environments.
The Carryall 500, driven by Oxa, provides autonomous asset monitoring, inspection and data collection in environments such as solar farms, industrial plants and large infrastructure sites. Designed to improve operational performance and support preventative maintenance, this rugged vehicle can eliminate the need for manual inspections, and can operate in harsh environments and off-highway on rough terrain. Inductive charging also means that large sites can be covered without human interaction, maximizing duty cycles and reducing the need for workers to be present in remote locations.
A key element of the collaboration is Oxa’s ability to use a single, common interface to integrate its self-driving technology across diverse vehicle types like the T800 and Carryall 500. This standardized approach reportedly simplifies the process of enabling autonomy on other Bradshaw EV platforms in the future, offering businesses a truly scalable pathway to industrial mobility automation. Consequently, businesses can deploy self-driving technology now, with the flexibility to expand to other applications and operational workflows.
“Industrial sectors are ideally placed to benefit from industrial mobility automation today,” said Gavin Jackson, CEO of Oxa. “Collaborating with Bradshaw EV allows us to deploy our autonomous technology on trusted vehicle platforms like the T800 and Carryall 500 at scale. Together, we are providing businesses with safe, reliable self-driving solutions that directly address operational inefficiencies and challenges, unlocking significant productivity gains across various repetitive mobility and transportation workflows.”
“At Bradshaw EV, we are constantly seeking innovative ways to enhance the value and capability we offer our customers,” added Drew Bradshaw, joint MD at Bradshaw EV. “Collaborating with Oxa enables us to offer state-of-the-art autonomous solutions that drive efficiency, safety and operational resilience for industrial workflows.”
