Dibotics and XenomatiX working on solid-state lidar data processing

Dibotics and XenomatiX are working to develop a real-time solid-state lidar data processing system integrating lidar and point cloud analysis software to enable autonomous cars to process millions of data points per second.

“Higher levels of automation of vehicles require a total solution for reliable 3D detection in all circumstances,” said Filip Geuens, CEO of XenomatiX. “By integrating the unique hardware and software technologies offered between our two companies, we believe that we can deliver a feasible mass production solution that will satisfy the needs of OEMs, Tier 1s and consumers.”

XenomatiX can combine a laser-based sensor with a high-frame-rate detector to produce 3D and 2D data used to detect objects and free space. This data is used by Dibotics to create an embedded software solution designed to keep pace with the rich data sets associated with lidar sensors. No extra input is required from IMUs, GPS or wheel encoders.
