The final episode in a series of videos released by Zoox called ‘Putting Zoox to the Test: Robotaxi Crash Testing’ outlines how the company designed the autonomous vehicle to pass challenging crash tests, in addition to summarizing pre-crash simulations, component-level tests and post-crash testing.

Built from the ground up, Zoox’s robotaxi does not feature any traditional driving controls like a steering wheel or pedals. The company has also incorporated FMVSS (Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standards) performance requirements directly into the vehicle and added over 100 safety innovations for increased passenger well-being.
