Auto maker Geely Holdings and technology company Baidu have launched a premium intelligent automotive technology brand, Ji Yue, and launched its first model.

The flagship model, the Ji Yue 01, will be manufactured by Geely and is set to make its debut in Q4 2023. Baidu will provide its smart cockpit expertise and autonomous driving and artificial intelligence technologies.

“Beyond overseeing sales, services and marketing for the 01, Ji Yue will also build and develop its own charging network in China to meet consumer demand for smart intelligent electric vehicles,” reads a company statement.

It has also been reported that China’s industry ministry website displayed three EVs under the Ji Yue name which were seeking regulatory approvals.

Previously, Geely co-funded the EV joint venture Jidu with Baidu. In June 2022, the brand launched a robot concept car, the first vehicle co-developed by the companies.
