<p class="p1">The study, which surveyed 1,040 American adults over the age of 18, found that participants are now considering buying an AV as the idea of working or relaxing while the car drives itself appeals to them. </p>
<p class="p1">The report also revealed that many US drivers are already considering buying vehicles with self-driving features. The survey found that 35% of people currently factor whether a car has self-driving features into their buying decision. </p>
<p class="p1">According to the study, 49% of people said that the main activity they want to do while their AV drives itself is eat or drink.</p>

<p class="p1">The trials will take place as part of the Streetwise Consortium, which aims to develop and demonstrate the technology, safety validation methods, insurance and service models for delivering autonomous personal mobility solutions targeted at replacing the urban commuter car. The consortium also includes the involvement of TRL. </p>
<p class="p1">As part of the trial, a 19km self-driving research route featuring human passengers will be set up in Croydon and Bromley to test the technology.</p>

The testing will now cover all of western Singapore. </p>
<p class="p1">LTA has been facilitating on-road AV trials since 2015 with the aim of understanding how the technology can be used to develop Singapore’s transport system. Over the past few years the test area has been progressively expanded. </p>
<p class="p1">In response to industry feedback that a more varied testing environment will help accelerate AV technology development, LTA has expanded the testing region further.</p>

<p class="p1">The technology incorporates AI in the ADAS feature. The system is planned for implementation in future Hyundai Motor Group vehicles. </p>
<p class="p1">“The new SCC-ML improves on the intelligence of the previous ADAS technology to dramatically improve the practicality of semi-autonomous features,” said Woongjun Jang, VP at Hyundai Motor Group. “Hyundai Motor Group will continue development efforts on innovative AI technologies to lead the industry in the field of autonomous driving.” </p>
<p class="p1">SCC enables an essential self-driving feature and core technology for ADAS: maintaining distance from the vehicle ahead while traveling at the speed selected by the driver.</p>

<p class="p1">Available on Microsoft’s cloud platform Azure, the new EB Assist Test Lab provides distributed teams with a single solution for easier management of petabytes of driving-scene data generated in real and simulated test drives during the validation and verification process. The solution can also help teams collaborate and ultimately bring new features into production more quickly.</p>
<p class="p1">EB Assist Test Lab offers an end-to-end approach to validation and verification, providing a one-stop-shop solution integrating tools that are already on the market and in use with additional functionality to cover critical gaps.</p>

<p class="p1">Shelia Cotten, professor in the Department of Media and Information, who is a leading expert on the use and impacts of emerging technologies, will lead the team. It will draw from organizational psychology, economics, sociology, geography, technology and transportation engineering.</p>
<p class="p1">Serving as co-principal investigator on the project, Elizabeth Mack, associate professor in the Department of Geography, Environment and Spatial Sciences, said, “We are approaching the next phase of technological change where people will interact with autonomous machines in various contexts.</p>

<p class="p1">The lidar perception system, based on the high-resolution Ouster OS2 lidar, runs on the NVIDIA DRIVE AGX platform. NVIDIA’s full-stack software delivers 360° sensor processing, mapping and path planning.</p>
<p class="p1">“Commercial AVs have to withstand some of the world’s most demanding environments,” said Ouster CEO Angus Pacala. “The OS2’s reliability and resolution make it the clear choice for NVIDIA’s OEM partners that require the highest level of dependability.”</p>
<p class="p1">For autonomous driving systems, Ouster’s structured lidar data can increase input processing speeds by up to 100-times over traditional unstructured lidar data when using vector processors like NVIDIA GPUs.</p>
