WeRide’s new Robovan W5 is an unmanned delivery solution featuring Level 4 autonomous driving technology, providing a system that operates 24/7 in all weather conditions and scenarios.
The Robovan W5 offers long-distance and bulk delivery capabilities with a rapid deployment system integrating vehicle, cloud and operations. It also addresses key challenges in the logistics industry, particularly in express delivery, urban distribution and various point-to-point logistics, with an advanced unmanned delivery solution.
Level 4 autonomous driving
The Robovan W5 benefits from WeRide’s track record of 1,900 days of autonomous operations and nearly 40,000,000km of autonomous driving on public roads. It features WeRide’s self-designed redundant sensor kit, capable of accurately detecting vehicles, traffic lights, pedestrians and other road users. The Robovan W5 also provides 360° blind-spot-free perception and can operate 24/7 in various traffic conditions, providing safe and reliable delivery services.
Bulk delivery and long-distance support
The new Robovan is fully optimized for cargo. It offers the largest cargo capacity in its class at 5.5m3 with 1,000kg maximum payload, and an operating range of up to 220km. It also meets the high-frequency, rapid delivery demands of express deliveries, and effectively addresses the challenges of long-distance, large-volume delivery in urban distribution and point-to-point logistics.
The Robovan’s path optimization system can analyze traffic conditions in real time, adjusting routes to avoid traffic congestion and enhance delivery efficiency. The modular design supports various stacking combinations for modular cargo boxes, catering to different business requirements.
Safety and reliability
The Robovan W5 features redundant drive-by-wire chassis, redundant perception, emergency braking, collision warning, driving status monitoring and intelligent Cloud Control Platform. These features prevent single-point failure in express delivery, ensuring robust and reliable safety.
Other highlights of the W5 include cloud-based intelligent scheduling and management that provide real-time monitoring, task optimization and data analytics, along with rapid deployment and remote OTA upgrades.
