Optis&#8217; additional know-how in the field of lidar, cameras and radar bolsters Ansys&#8217; capabilities in the development of AVs.</p>
<p>In addition, the acquisition of Optis adds multi-physics simulation of physical and electronic components, the analysis of systems&#8217; functional safety, as well as automated development of safety-certified embedded software. These functions can be integrated into a closed-loop simulation environment that interacts with weather and traffic simulators, enabling thousands of driving scenarios to be executed virtually.</p>

The digital environment has been created to represent the real world precisely and enable tests in &#8220;every scenario imaginable&#8221;.</p>
<p>&#8220;AVs are the future; the market is expected to be worth up to US$10tn, but debate is rising about whether these vehicles should be allowed on our roads,&#8221; said Chris Hoyle, technical director at rFpro. &#8220;If not, how do we develop them? Our platform enables vehicle manufacturers to thoroughly test their technology and be absolutely confident in their systems before validation on real roads.</p>

Now the companies are partnering to optimise support for mutual customers. The collaboration could also be extended to other subject areas.</p>
<p>As a toolbox for the development of electronic control units, EB Assist ADTF combines a development environment and an interactive work environment. Using drag-and-drop, developers are able to create new configurations by means of the GUI and the available modules.</p>
<p>The data flow between the software components can be immediately defined and executed.</p>
