Element Fleet Management has announced a strategic multi-year partnership with Waymo to support the large-scale deployment and operation of autonomous vehicle fleets.

This partnership will provide end-to-end fleet management and operational services to support Waymo’s autonomous mobility operation, beginning with an initial deployment in San Diego, California, and expanding to additional markets over time.

Autonomous mobility is rapidly advancing, and scaling these fleets requires more than vehicles on the road – it requires an integrated operational and digital orchestration layer, capable of managing fleet readiness, charging infrastructure, energy optimization, maintenance, compliance and real-time operational performance across markets.

AmiGo, the on-demand autonomous mobility service from Baidu’s Apollo Go and Swiss Post‘s PostBus, has announced that it has received a special permit from Switzerland’s Federal Roads Office (FEDRO) for Level 4 operations in eastern Switzerland. The vehicles began conducting open-road testing on June 1, 2026.

The FEDRO special permit confirms that AmiGo’s vehicles and autonomous driving system meet Switzerland’s defined safety and quality requirements, with AmiGo now carrying out autonomous driving trials with a safety operator in an approximately 80km² zone that spans the cantons of St Gallen, Appenzell Ausserrhoden and Appenzell Innerrhoden.

Bolt, Pony.ai and Stellantis have launched an autonomous mobility testing program in Luxembourg that will focus on validating the safety, performance and regulatory readiness of Pony.ai’s seventh-generation (Gen-7) autonomous vehicles in the country’s traffic environment. Stellantis will contribute its vehicle engineering and manufacturing expertise, with a midsize van based on its L4-Ready Platform.

The partners are preparing the pilot that is designed to test the technologies and operational processes required to support safe autonomous mobility in cities, from vehicle deployment and ride-hailing platform integration to fleet operations and regulatory coordination.

The pilot program builds on previously announced intended collaborations between Stellantis, Pony.ai and Bolt to advance the development and deployment of autonomous mobility solutions in Europe.

Beep has announced that ATL Spoke, an autonomous transit pilot deployed in partnership with Atlanta Beltline, is now in service and open to the public. The ATL Spoke represents the first autonomous public transit in the City of Atlanta.

The 12-month pilot, funded by the Georgia Transportation Efficiency Authority, will evaluate how autonomous transit can support flexible, cost-effective neighbourhood circulation while complementing existing MARTA service.

Wayve, Uber and Nissan have become the latest organizations to join the Partners for Automated Vehicle Education United Kingdom (PAVE UK) initiative, which aims to ensure the responsible future deployment of automated vehicles across the UK

Wayve and Uber plan to deploy autonomous vehicles in London this year in an initial trial that hopes to increase public engagement and understanding of the technology.

Passengers may be able to book self-driving taxi and bus-style vehicles later this year, following the opening of applications on May 22, 2026, for operators seeking to run self-driving mobility services across the UK.

This pilot scheme will enable firms, including UK self-driving technology company Wayve, to bring cutting-edge technology to UK roads, creating thousands of jobs and unlocking billions for the economy by 2035.

Services could enhance journeys by supporting greater freedom and independence for older and disabled people, as well as expanding travel options across both work and leisure, the UK government said.

Self-driving technology could transform roads, with human error currently contributing to 88% of collisions on UK roads, said the UK Department for Transport.

MOIA America will provide the MOIA brand’s turnkey autonomous mobility solution, which includes purpose-built, autonomous-ready ID. Buzz vehicles equipped with the self-driving system developed by Mobileye, a Mobility-as-a-Service (MaaS) software platform, as well as operator training and enablement. The integrated solution helps autonomous vehicle fleet operators deploy and manage an autonomous driving ecosystem.

At the Wuhu round of the Second China Urban Intelligent Driving Competition hosted by D1EV, the Chery Exeed Sterra ET,  equipped with the one‑stage end‑to‑end advanced driver assistance system (ADAS) solution jointly developed by WeRide and Bosch, secured first place by over 10 points. Horizon Robotics and XPeng took second and third place. With this result, WeRide Driving (WRD 3.0) has achieved four consecutive wins.

WRD 3.0 is built around rapid technological iteration, using WeRide’s Genesis simulation model and large-scale L4 driverless road data to replicate complex scenarios at scale. Continuous training, validation and optimization create a closed loop between real-world driving and simulation, enabling strong scenario generalization and ongoing performance improvement as mileage increases.
