The expansion adds a second load-out point along the company’s 42-mile Dune Express sand conveyor system, increasing the reach of autonomous deliveries and supporting growing customer demand, according to Atlas.

The companies have also agreed to a delivery timetable that will expand Atlas’s Kodiak-enabled fleet from 28 driverless trucks operating as of March 31, 2026, to 100 autonomous delivery trucks by mid-2027.

The agreement sees the tire maker acquire a 24.99% equity stake in the company, with an option to increase its holding to 100%, and grants Pirelli a licence to use RIDEsense’s virtual sensor technology. The company said the collaboration is a further step in the Cyber Tyre ecosystem’s role within advanced driver assistance systems and autonomous driving systems.

Combining Pirelli Cyber Tyre’s physical sensors with RIDEsense’s virtual sensors (algorithms that process data from sensors already installed in vehicles) will broaden the system’s contribution to vehicle safety electronics, the tire maker said, and strengthen existing functions such as aquaplaning detection and enable new capabilities in tire and vehicle diagnostics.

Waabi has announced the results of its zero-shot transfer, marking a significant step toward scalable autonomous vehicle deployment.

Generalization in self-driving takes two distinct forms.

The first is the ability to generalize across environments and behaviors, applying knowledge and skills safely across different operational design domains (ODDs), from highways to dense urban streets, varying traffic patterns, road geometries and driving behaviors. Waabi’s Driver system addresses this through an end-to-end AI approach with reasoning capabilities that, in Q1 2025, it expanded beyond highway operation to complex urban surface streets.
